Commitment To Disability Rights
Antonioli & Associates’ Commitment To Advancing Disability Rights
Background and Compromise
In 2010, Ralph Antonioli’s life took a dramatic turn when he suffered the rupture of three brain aneurysms. After spending six weeks in a coma and battling multiple acute conditions in the ICU, doctors told Ralph’s wife, Hari, to prepare for the worst, as he had less than a one percent chance of survival. Even after defying these odds, they warned that Ralph would never walk, talk, or practice law again.
But Ralph was determined to write a different story.
Despite the grim prognosis, he relearned how to walk and talk. And a decade after completing his Master of Laws degree, Ralph set his sights on passing the bar exam—something doctors said would be impossible. He did just that, and today, Ralph is admitted to practice law in Washington, D.C., a testament to his unwavering perseverance.
Ralph’s near-death experience reshaped his priorities, fueling his dedication to championing disability rights, especially in the legal profession. He is committed to increasing the representation of disabled professionals, a group he calls the “underestimated social group.” Although his advocacy began during his time in Big Law, Ralph now actively promotes disability rights through the American Bar Association’s Commission on Disability Rights.
At Antonioli & Associates, we are proud signatories of the Pledge for Change of the American Bar Association. We affirm our commitment to diversity, with a particular focus on disability inclusion in the legal field.
